peterj Jan 13, 2008 6:36 PM (in response to javatwo)Bracket your xml text with [ code ]...[ /code ] (without the spaces. Or highligh the text and click the Code button. Either way, hit preview first to check the post before submitting it.
Be aware that JBossAS 4.2.x binds to 127.0.0.1, and not to 0.0.0.0 (see the readme.hmtl file, under Configuration Issues), so any attempts to use a host name other than "localhost" in the url will fail.
Are you running this on Linux or Windows? On Linux you cannot use port 80 unless you are running as root (or provide some appropriate magic). -

javatwo Jan 14, 2008 7:33 AM (in response to javatwo)Ops, I read the doc, and need to set -b 0.0.0.0 when starting JBoss. Where to add the -b option? Is it a Java option? I am running Linux.
Thanks

Its not a java option. You will have to pass this parameter to the run command. For linux, you use run.sh -b 0.0.0.0 -
9. Re: JBoss 4.2.2 does not respond to http port 80, no firewal
berna Feb 20, 2008 6:17 AM (in response to javatwo)Hi all,
Is there a way to set the option -b 0.0.0.0 in config file somewhere? So say, instead of:
>run.bat -b 0.0.0.0
I simply run
>run.bat
to start up jboss server.
I am running jboss 4.2.2 GA on windows 2003 server and currently considering running it as windows service, but unable to find a way to pass in the binding thing (-b 0.0.0.0 param passing).
I have downloaded jboss-native-2.0.3-windows-i686-ssl, any idea how to run the service so jboss server can be accessed other than from localhost?
Thanks. -

Edit the service.bat file that comes with the jboss-native :call run.bat >run.log
tocall run.bat -b 0.0.0.0 >run.log
