hot deploy of configuration files and message resources

Hi,

I have a question. I have a couple of configuration files and message resource properties files in my war file. Is it possible that I can hot deploy these files whenever I make changes to them without restarting jboss? If yes, what needs to be done to achieve this? I am a long time user of Jboss as a developer but I don't really know internals of Jboss deployment design.

You can deploy your WAR in exploded format http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/en/ExplodedDeployment.
Then whenever you change something in the WAR, just "touch" the web.xml so that the server redeploys your application. See this for more details http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/RedeployAnApplicationWhenChangeAFileInAnExplodedDeploymentDirectory. Server restart is not required.
