And see this: http://www.jboss.org/community/wiki/JBossWithJDK6
Since you are getting web services problems, also see:

Why are you using 4.2.1? The latest 4.2 version is 4.2.3 and there is a download available for 4.2.3 that specifically works with JDK6. -

The 4.2.1 Version looks like the professional version
shipped by Jboss. One of our productive systems
does run on a 4.2.1. I assumed, that this one is
the most recent one shipped as rpm pakages.
Am i right or not ? -
3. Re: JBoss 4.2 and JAVA6, compatibility matrix available
peterj Aug 5, 2009 10:49 AM (in response to groovie)JBoss EAP 4.3 CP02(?), which is the latest supported version, is based on AS 4.2.1 but includes a lot of patches, all(?) of which are also in AS 4.2.3.
I would never use the JBossAS obtained as an RPM package - I would always download for the JBoss AS download site. But that is just personal preference. And just because 4.2.1 is the most recent RPM available does not mean that it is the best version to use.
