1. Re: run.sh: Missing required file: /usr/local/jboss/system/s
peterj Sep 16, 2009 10:52 AM (in response to hioctane)I have to ask: did you first compile it?
It looks like you are trying to run it from the source directory where run.sh is located. Don't do that. After compiling, there should be a jboss-src-basedir/build/output/jboss-xxx/bin directory (where xxx is the version number). cd into that directory and run run.sh. -
2. Re: run.sh: Missing required file: /usr/local/jboss/system/s
hioctane Sep 16, 2009 11:55 PM (in response to hioctane)Sorry I'm new at this and yes I skipped the building JBoss with ant. Good call Peter.
Now when I run "run.sh" I get thisjava.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.jboss.system.server.ServerImpl at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252) at org.jboss.system.server.ServerLoader.createServer(ServerLoader.java:286) at org.jboss.system.server.ServerLoader.load(ServerLoader.java:268) at org.jboss.Main.boot(Main.java:194) at org.jboss.Main$1.run(Main.java:508) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619)
Any idea?
Thanks -
3. Re: run.sh: Missing required file: /usr/local/jboss/system/s
hioctane Sep 17, 2009 1:03 AM (in response to hioctane)I should have mentioned it to begin with but I'm running JBoss 4.2.3 on CentOS 5.2.
Thanks -
4. Re: run.sh: Missing required file: /usr/local/jboss/system/s
jaikiran Sep 17, 2009 1:06 AM (in response to hioctane)Are you sure you want to build the JBoss AS from source? I am asking that question just to be sure that, that's what you want, so that we can help you in the right direction. The other option is to download the machine independent binary (already compiled code).

peterj Sep 17, 2009 11:41 AM (in response to hioctane)Did the compile go through without errors? Also, what JDK are you using?

hioctane Sep 18, 2009 12:00 AM (in response to hioctane)Hi,
Thank you guys for your help. I tool jaikiran's advice and used the pre-compiled Jboss instead and it worked fine.
Yes, compiling the source code for about 20 mins ended with a successful message and I'm using JDK 1.6.
I pretty much gave up on compiling the source code at this point.
Thanks again
