3. Re: Cannot get JBoss Cluster working on same machine
gsanil Jan 29, 2003 2:27 PM (in response to gsanil)I just tried the same thing with JBoss 3.0.6. Still have the same problem. I changed the loopback=true but that did not make any difference either. I am not sure what I am missing. Can someone tell me if they ever got 2 JBoss instances running on the same machine in a cluster?
Thanks. -

srini Jan 30, 2003 6:10 AM (in response to gsanil)Hi sanil,
if u think that the requests are always going to the same instance,u can try with a loop of around 100 and in the mid try to stop one instance then the requests are automatically diverted to another instance.if that is the the case then u can be sure that the instances are clustered.
bye

belaban Jan 30, 2003 10:35 AM (in response to gsanil)Read the previous posts in this forum. Search for bind_addr, you may have to set it to the loopback (lo) device

gsanil Jan 30, 2003 11:04 AM (in response to gsanil)I did try with bind_addr to be my ip address but it did not work. Can you tell me more about this loopback device?
I know that these 2 instances are not clustered because the logs do not say that. Also when the 2nd instance comes up the 1st instance log should say that a member has been added. This is not happening. I also set up farm_service.xml and it is supposed to deploy any jars across the cluster. This is not happening either. So I am concluding that these 2 instances are not clustered. But when I bring down one of the machine the clients do send requests to the other machine, but this might be just due to JNDI and has nothing to do with clustering.
Thanks. -
7. Re: Cannot get JBoss Cluster working on same machine
gsanil Jan 30, 2003 11:14 AM (in response to gsanil)Thanks Bela,
I finally got this working. I added the bind_addr to 127.0.0.1 with loopback set to true and now it recognizes the instances of clusters.
Once again thanks a lot.
