Can you cluster using the /default sub-directory

Hey guys,

I know that the docs specify using the /all sub-directory for clustering resources, but i have a client that would prefer to stick with /default for various political reasons (don't ask)...

they need to cluster stateless session beans and ejbs...

so my question is,

is it possible to cluster resources that are located in the /default/deploy sub-directory?

or is it mandatory to move resources to the /all/deploy sub-directory in order to cluster?

The name of the configuration doesn't matter, so you can stick with the default directory. However you need to add some of the services, jars and configuration from the 'all' directory for clustering (e.g. deploy/cluster-service.xml, lib/javagroups-2.0.jar, ...)
