what happens with static classes in a clustered JBoss?

Hello out there.

We are starting clustering with JBoss.
In our project there is one static class. What happens to this class if it is deployed on more than one node? Has every node now this static class or is it sure that this class only exists static clusterwide?

There will be a different instance of the static class on each node in the cluster.

Furthermore, in an environnement such as an application server (where you don't control what happens at the classloader level), you may end up with several "domains" where you have several different static values for the exact same class name in the SAME virtual machine.

One solution is to define a service (MBean) to store these data in a unique fashion.

Or, if you want the information to be available globally on the cluster, you can also use the DistributedState service from the clustering, see doco for more info.
