Maximum number of HTTP Sessions in a cluster

I am running 3.2.3 with tomcat and session replication enabled. The system seems to max out with 9,829 sessions. Is there a hard limit? Is there a way to adjust the limit?

It would help to know:
1) What you mean by "max out"? Is there an error?
2) What platform you are on (Windows, Linux, etc)
3) What is your architecture? Is a load balancer in front? How many nodes do you have?
