Election of Master Node

Hi All,

I would like to know what algorithm is used to elect the master node after the nodes in cluster become seperated due to, let say, a network problem?

Is this algorithm pluggable, can I put my own election algorithm?

This is part of JGroups, MERGE2 protocol plus GMS.

You could write your own JGroups protocol to replace the existing algorithm.

Is "MERGE2 protocol plus GMS" also used by the HASingletonService to elect the master node?

afaik. The HASingleton simply relies on callbacks received by the underlying JGroups.
