How can I stop these warning messages ? [UDP] discarded mes

I'm running a JBoss 4.0.1 clustered application and I'm getting the following console messages every 15 seconds:

14:32:37,181 WARN [UDP] discarded message from different group (Tomcat-Cluster). Sender was brooklyn:32774
14:32:37,931 WARN [UDP] discarded message from different group (DefaultPartition). Sender was brooklyn:32770 (additional data: 17 bytes)

In my cluster-service.xml I have the following for the DefaultPartition:

I'm not sure if the above makes any difference for this issue, or what it is that is causing these warning messages. All I want is for the messages to stop appearing on my console so I can monitor the server without having these useless messages scroll my screen. Can someone suggest a way to solve this problem ?

under conf/log4j.xml

up the category of "org.jgroups" from WARN to ERROR as follows:

I think this issue may be fixed in CVS ( I am not 100% sure).

I get the same warning.

discarded message from non-member <name>:32958

Is this really harmless? Maybe this is a real problem and one JBoss is not part of the partition anymore.
What do you think?

This means that you received a message from :32958, but :32958 is not member of the group. In JGroups only members who join a group are allowed to send, otherwise we simply discard their messages.
You must have received a view in which :32958 was not a member anymore.

I have a related question. I was also getting the same messages because I started two jboss 4.0.2 instances on separate servers with different partition names (hence two separate clusters). I was able to assign a different mcast_port in cluster-service.xml for one of them, and the warning messages went away. However, even though both partitions are named differently, I still see a message such as

2005-08-02 16:01:15,852 INFO [org.jboss.cache.TreeCache] viewAccepted(): new members: [shwd03:64354, IT-3K65B21-XP:4189]

This is from the server IT-3K65B21-XP starting up, why is it seeing shwd03 even though partition names and mcast_ports are different?

Starting 3.2.6, there is an additonal tc-cluster-service.xml for http session replication that uses JGroups. So you will need to segregated there as well.

thanks, that did it, I simply upped the mcast_ports by 1 for both cluster-service.xml and tc-cluster-service.xml for one of the boxes, and they seem to be isolated now.

Now I need help on how to stop watching this topic (especially since it was hijacked and is no longer very relevant to my original question, which was answered satisfactorily six months ago).

The means of removing a watched topic on this forum doesn't appear to work, in that if I choose "Watched Topics", then select the check box to the right of the topic title, and then click the "Stop Watching" button then the list of watched topics is displayed again with the same topic still in the list of watched topics. Yesterday I selected all of my watched topics to be stopped and nothing happened, today I am still receiving alerts whenever this topic has a new message, and this topic (as well as all others selected yesterday for stop watching) still show up in the list of watched topics.

So it appears that the watched topics settings portion of the forum is broken. Can someone please let me know when this is fixed? Just reply to this topic, I'm still getting the watch alert emails. ;)
