1. Re: Clustering and JBossCache
jerrygauth Dec 16, 2005 3:57 PM (in response to wikmaki)I don't think it's currently feasible as HA services and distributed cache instances are independent groups. Currently you need to distinguish these groups via group name, bind address, and bind port. I think that future plans for JGroups include supporting a common configuration; perhaps someone from JBoss can confirm this.

2. Re: Clustering and JBossCache
brian.stansberry Dec 16, 2005 4:04 PM (in response to wikmaki)Yes, it is. The relevant issue is http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JGRP-119. Once this is done we can configure TreeCache and HAPartition (which underlies HASingleton) to share a JGroups JChannel.

3. Re: Clustering and JBossCache
wikmaki Dec 19, 2005 1:32 AM (in response to wikmaki)Thanks for this information. I immediately voted for that issue because I think it is a bit silly to have two separate clusterings for the same set of nodes.

4. Re: Clustering and JBossCache
ben.wang Dec 19, 2005 9:10 AM (in response to wikmaki)To be precise, it is not two separate clustering. Rather, it is to multiplex the same JGroups channel for multiple clustering services.
