we want to deploy ear in exploded format in cluster.we want to do because we ship the ear to our clients and whenever a request comes for hot fix we may have to modify jsps or styles etc.It would be easy if we th ear is exploded as suppot can easily overwrite existing jsp with new one...
is it possible to do that ?? i saw in jboss cluster configuration docs which say that in fam directory we can only deploy archive but is there a way to do that????
I am using 4.2.1 jboss version. -

skajotde Sep 6, 2008 9:28 AM (in response to patwary_shiva)You can deploy not-exploded ear and edit jsp in tmp/deploy/xxx directory. I was using this solution. Sometimes there is problem with refresh changes but I think it requires some touching on specific files. And problem is to synchronize it over cluster - Maybe you will have to hand copy changes to other cluster nodes.
Or If you using cluster maybe you can sequentially execute steps: stop-start cluster node with updated ear - and all time you application is available. I don't know how JBoss support that solution. -

smarlow Sep 9, 2008 9:19 AM (in response to patwary_shiva)Regarding the question of exploded ear directories in cluster, that is currently not supported. I don't remember the jira issue number but if you search for it, you could vote for it.
