Problems restarting cluster nodes - start up is interrupted

Hi,

We currently have two instances of JBoss running clustered. Now we have been having a few teething problems with the system, and occasionally have to bring one of the JBoss instances down. However on then trying to bring it back up, it starts recieving 'credit requests' from the other node before it has managed to start up fully - this has various problems on the node, as it cannot deal with the requests handed to it, and prevents it from loading up some (or all) of the components.

Is there any way to prevent communication between the two nodes in the cluster until it has fully loaded all of its components, or get it to only join the cluster once everything has been deployed?

We are still experiencing this issue, and have been unable to find any more information regarding it. Is there any advice we coudl take when looking at this?

Is there a way we could set maybe a time flag on one of the nodes, so that it waits a certain amount of time (on noticing another node) before sending any requests to it?

What AS release and what version of JGroups (if you changed the default)?

We are using JBboss 5.0.0. Beta4, and JGroups 2.6.1

Suggest you use 5.0.0.CR2; there have been improvements in the group formation logic since beta4.

If you still have issues, please post a description of exactly what you are seeing.

There's no way to prevent joining a group until all other services have started; a number of services depend on properly being part of the group.
