1. Re: How do I install GateIn 3.0.0-Beta02
rafaelliu Nov 10, 2009 2:44 PM (in response to rmbittmann)You just need to run ./gatein.sh run and access http://localhost:8080/portal.

2. Re: How do I install GateIn 3.0.0-Beta02
rmbittmann Nov 11, 2009 3:31 AM (in response to rmbittmann)Though I had to use the short name of "Program Files", i.e. "progra~1" when defining JAVA_HOME it worked fine for me, thanks.
What I have not figured out yet, is how I can start it as a service like when I install tomcat by itself. Otherwise I will have two installations and they will collide.
Also how can I use it for developing a site with eclipse & JBoss tools? Do I have to download the sources as an eclipse dynamic web project?
I am sorry if these are trivial questions, but I could not find it in the documentation, so directing me to the right place in the documentation will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rani. -

You can take a look at: http://www.jboss.org/community/wiki/RunningGateIn-30viaJSVC"rmbittmann" wrote:

GateIn adheres to portlet specification (JSR 168 and 286) so programing for GateIn is basically creating a portlet application. For that you should look at tutorials regarding those JSRs. Also GateIn have a UI framework called WebUI, which can help some.
See http://docs.jboss.com/gatein/portal/3.0.0-Beta02/user-guide/en-US/html/ch10.html and http://docs.jboss.com/gatein/portal/3.0.0-Beta02/user-guide/en-US/html/ch11.html for more details.
Hope that helped.
