kirupakaran Jul 26, 2004 10:25 AM (in response to ivelin.ivanov)I am trying to checkout the files. But as I am behind the firewall (using wincvs) I am getting
cvs [checkout aborted]: Proxy server rgproxy1.hs.pru.com does not support HTTP tunnelling
Is there any workaround for this to checkout and post my fixes.
Thanks

ivelin.ivanov Jul 30, 2004 1:54 PM (in response to ivelin.ivanov)You can start by looking at the failures in the automated test suite:
http://testsuite.jboss.com/
Use the QA forum for feedback and direction:

renusubs Aug 6, 2004 2:31 PM (in response to ivelin.ivanov)Hello
I a professional software developer and would like to help in developing JBoss. I am particularly interested in JBossCache and found some unassigned bugs in the bug list pertaining to JBossCache. I could perhaps start by fixing some bugs so I can learn more about the product. Could some one suggest where I can get the source code for JBossCache from?
Thanks

anil.saldhana Aug 6, 2004 2:58 PM (in response to ivelin.ivanov)Renuka,
JBossCache uses JGroups as the communication medium. JGroups is the basis for many features in JBoss like Clustering etc. You can start by looking deeper into JGroups (http://www.jgroups.org)
JBossCache is divided into two classes -TreeCache and TreeCacheAOP. Basically Cache is implemented as a Tree.
jboss-cache/src/main/org/jboss/cache TreeCache.java
Look for a module called "jboss-cache" -

renusubs Aug 13, 2004 5:36 PM (in response to ivelin.ivanov)Hello Janilsal
Thanks for your input. I am in the process of reading the documentation for TreeCache and TreeCache AOP. I would like to get my hands dirty doing some bug fixes alongside. I feel that would help me learn better.
I noticed that there's one bug that someone has posted regarding an infinite loop in the LRU algorithm. I'd like to work on that one. How do I go about that?
Could you or someone please help?
Thanks

kojak77 Sep 17, 2004 12:59 PM (in response to ivelin.ivanov)Hello,
I'm a keen Java programmer and I'm interested in contributing to the project.
I've been bumming around the world for some time now so I'm looking to get back on top of my game with something 'relatively straightfoward'. Can you suggest an area that would start me off on the right track?

If you are not familiar with the JBoss code base I would strongly recommend starting with some unit test work.
Otherwise you can pick one of the JBoss products and try to take on development tasks.
Let me know. -

I'm a very experienced developer with over 7 years of ORM (Object to Relational) experience, having done it in a variety of languages and technologies. I'm considering becoming a contributor to Hibernate. I"ve read in the past where JBoss rewards major contributors to the various projects. How can I find out how contributors are paid? Is it lines of code? Percentage of feature set provided? Number of questions answered? Or is it that a developer is expected to make money by providing support to whoever is willing to pay for it?
Enquiring minds want to know :)
