shutdown script authentication requirement for 3.2.4

Hi,

The shutdown script posts an URL using JMX to shutdown the app. This does not work if the JMX webapp is secured.

I would therefore like to ask if it is possible to implement the authentication (in shutdown.java). I noticed it is already foreseen but implementation is still missing.

When this posting is off-target, could i perhaps submit this somewhere in a bug or feature database?

Go ahead and submit it as a patch on Source Forge.
Then post a follow up message to this topic with a link to the patch.

The shutdown.sh does not post a URL to perform the shutdown. It uses the invoker adaptor which by default uses RMI. See the reply I made to the related post in the security forum which already indicated 3.2.4R1 will provide the authenticated shutdown implementation.
