Seeking JBoss/J2EE scalability / performance info

    wpfeiffe

First off, sorry for posting in two forums, but after my first posting, it looked like testimonial was a poor initial choice of forums. Anyway...

Can anyone point me in the direction of any white paper type write ups that specifically address performance and scalability of JBoss and J2EE in general. We are currently using JBoss 3.2.1 and have had good success with it for our company extranet. We are now bidding on a project and need to include some info addressing scalability and performance for our platform choice (JBoss!)

      Thanks for any info.

I don't think there has been anything published with that recent version -- or any recent version now that I think about it, haven't seen any new reports for quite a while, at least not free ones.

The most recent I can remember is the Doculabs one, that's linked from the front page. That's testing the web services performance so just stateless services on JBoss. Obviously .NET wins as the report was funded by MS but JBoss was the fastest J2EE server.

But then all of these reports seem to have some kind of bias. Don't know if it's at all helpful for you.

Thanks for the response. I'm not looking for comparison type info as much as discussion as to why and how J2EE scales (servlet model, ejb caching, clustering allowing for horizontal scaling). I could write something up myself but am pretty much immersed in building a prototype to demo in 2 weeks. I would also rather quote an authority.

If you can think of any place where I could find such info, I'd certainly appreciate hearing of it.
