Is JBoss completely free for development and commercial use?

    vladis

      Hi,

Wouldn't have asked but one respectable person claims Jboss is not free for commercial use... To put it simply: do developing company and company which uses developed software and JBoss Application Server must pay anything?

      Regards,

It is free for commercial use. You can develop your applications and deploy them in production environment on top of JBoss without having to pay anything.

Only if you start making and distributing changes to the libraries we provide as part of the JBoss distribution will the LGPL license take effect (it will still be free of charge, but you're required to make your changes available using the same LGPL license).

            Hi Vladislovas,

You can read more about the LGPL license by going to the 'About LGPL' page on our website (under Company, Open Source Topics).
