JBoss and GPL

I had been so sure that JBoss is LGPL'd, but not GPL'd. But now I see that it uses getopt from GNU, which is GPL'd. So how did JBoss itself escape the GPL virus?

getopt is LGPL.

unjar it and read message.properties if you don't believe me.
