cfraser Apr 3, 2007 4:59 AM (in response to tomarenz)Sounds good... looking forward to it.
Any idea of time frames?
As a side point, a couple of nice features that the current JavaScript menu I use has are optional delays for dropping down the menu so it doesn't drop down instantly when you move the mouse across it, only if you hover a bit (eg. 1/4 of a second or so), and also optional delays for hiding the menu once you leave it.
... as if we haven?t enough to do you are thinking :-)... just a couple of thoughts.

ilya_shaikovsky Apr 3, 2007 5:21 AM (in response to tomarenz)There was a menu component in previous version of the library (it was VCP 2.0 one). Now we perform some refactoring work and split the menu to the context and dropdown. Also we include some new features asked by the developers that used previous one. Different delays - also in this set.. ;)

tomarenz Apr 3, 2007 5:50 AM (in response to tomarenz)I also would vote for handling disabled items by changing style - such as greying them - instead of removing them from the menu. The latter is often confusing for the end user, since he cannot understand while some actions come and go.

8. Re: How to make a dynamic menu?
martinicus May 10, 2007 6:16 AM (in response to tomarenz)Hi!
I have downloaded RichFaces 3.0.1 SNAPSHOT and got a dropdown menu running. But now I want to generate the menu from a EJB3 instead and since there is no documentation on dropdown menu yet (i have not found any, the sample implementation http://maven.exadel.com/org/richfaces/dropdownmenu-sample/3.0.1-SNAPSHOT/dropdownmenu-sample-3.0.1-20070510.001114-46.war give no clue) maybe someone here can give me a hand?
In Tomahawk (jscookmenu) you do like descirbed in this wiki http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/Dynamic_Menus_with_JSCookMenu
Is it possible to do somehing like this in RichFaces?

9. Re: Anything like a dropdown menu
ilya_shaikovsky May 10, 2007 6:28 AM (in response to tomarenz)You may use binding the component to generate it on the server instead of describing on the page.
