    JBOSS3.0 startup

      Hi,

      I tried JBoss 3.0 on a Duron800 (512Mbyte RAM).
If I launch it from my Win95 starts up in 30 sec.
But, if I launch if from my Redhat7.3 (from the
same machine), starts up in 1min and 30 sec. :(

I noticed that the CPU is at 100% in both OS
      (no network latency time)

      Why?

      TIA

the truth is that win95 was the pinnacle of os development and will never be toppled in any performance figures

I have similar results, AMD XP 2000+ w/ 512MB DDR, under Windows2K it takes 9 seconds...while under RedHat 7.3 it takes more than 30secs

What is the reason for this kind of huge difference ? Is it something multi-threading related perhaps ?

Does Windows also outperforms Linux after JBoss has started up ?

            cheers
            Wouter.
