just to inform you,
after some months of research we descovered that we can improve the performance of the application 3-4 times faster by simply compressing the NTFS disk.....
(We are using large DB tables)
Tested on some systems (mostly XP), IDE and SCSI drives and the results are very goods.
Seem that the Win32 decompress alghoritm is better performant that the disk access....
