sql performance

I have an application using BMP Beans running in a ms-windows system and accessing a remoting ms-sql database server.

My problem is that the application is too slow when accessing the entities and I would like to know if there are any configuration to improve performance without change the application code.

which driver are you using to access de sql server? i 'm actualy using net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver and is far better than the com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver.

Do you use preparedSatements in your BMP ? If no => change it and try to set <prepared-statement-cache-size>500</prepared-statement-cache-size> parametr to enable statement caching.
