    setting right HEAP metrics

      Server : RHEL linux with 4 GB Ram
      Jboss 4.2.2 GA

      memory consumed by process
      RSS VSIze
      358560 937004

      after seeing above pls suggest what Xms n Xms size Do I use for optimal performance . any other tweak you may suggest

      issue is RAM continuously eaten by jboss where GC frees a little or sm times does not .

          You cannot look at Linux metrics and from there determine what your heap settings should be. There are many posts in this forum that discuss heap sizing, I will leave you to discover a few of them.

          Regarding "or sm times does not", what is "sm'? I don't recognize the sm utility, and I doubt you mean this one: http://linux.die.net/man/8/sm
