Dynamic rich dropdown menu

I would appreciate an example or suggestion on how to implement a dynamic rich dropdown menu. Rich faces example shows how to hardcode the menuitems, but I need to read them from the backing bean.

If you create the drop down menu dynamically, I wonder how you can specify the action for each menuItem?

Anyway, I tried to create one dynamically (ignore the actions) and the result is not what I expected http://jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=108612.

Or maybe it can be created with some UIComponent manipulation?

Drop down menu, menu item and menu group are standard jsf components. So, you can create the component hierarchy usual way. Do not forget that value binding is not the same as method binding. So, event the page equivalent is action="a", you still need to provide method binding for action like for creating h:commandButton dynamically.
