3.0 Quickstart badly needs editing and checking.

Lets face it most people's first impressions count - and the quick start guide will form part of that.

The 3.0 ain't too good.

Firstly, the examples/templates are *nix-ed and don't look too happy on Windows (cr+lf v lf) and the text is badly in need of an editor. The lapses of English aside, the references obviously havent been checked, for example page 19 it tells you to look at www.cvs.org for more info on CVS. Which is fine, if what you are interested in is the Calgary Vocational Services web site...

Hey bucko. Here is the way it works. Either you pay someone to make the change for you, or you make the changes yourself and send changes to author. But whinning and complaining about free stuff will only get you labeled as an idiot which will dramatically decrease your chances of getting your real questions answered.

In case you didn't notice this is the newbie area, if I knew how to fix all the problems with the quickstart guide I wouldn't be posting here. Did I really have to spell that out ?

I've bought the documentation already, both the 2.4 book and the 3.0 pdf - and there is no "you can pay for it" version of Quickstart that has the fixes. If there was, I would have paid for it.

Well you were able to figure out the problem with www.cvs.org references and noticed some lapses in the language used -- why don't you send those to the author? Also stop the attitude.

You know, if you and Greg spent half the time you spend posting useless crap and instead posted helpful responses that were actually on topic and relevant this would actually be a useful forum.... but oh that would require you to know what you were talking about.

I'm saddened that the morons who flooded the mailing list early in JBoss's life (and caused me to give up in disgust at the smart-arse responses they give in lieu of real knowledge and insight) have transferred to this forum.

Appreciate these guys and they will help. Offend and things only get worse.

You can *buy* consultancy. If you don't you are relying on people's good will. Good will is more easily given to appreciative audiences :)

Hey, nobody is forcing to hang around here. If you are that unhappy with all things JBoss, if punctuation and correct English is how you rate an app server vendor, you are welcome to go elsewhere. And buy this book, you will need it:
