Is anybody using JBoss in 'appliance' applications?
By 'appliance' applications I mean an application that is easy to install, is secure, and doesn't take much management by the end user.
JBoss is a good development environment, but I have talked to a few MIS managers that are dead set against allowing 'rogue' J2EE servers on their networks. They feel that the management of a J2EE server for a turnkey application should not be necessary, and feel that it is too easy for a user to 'customize' the application.
Also, they cringe when they hear about JMX remote management.
