How to run JMX Console?

I just attended my second presentation on JMX (given my Mike Davis at Boulder Java Users Group) and I think I understand it a little better. I was pleasantly surprised to hear so many praises for JBoss as being such an effective implementation of JMX.

Is "JMX Console" the name of the JMX Client application? How do I run it and use it?

It is the html adaptor.

In JBoss, the jmx console refers to the jmx console to the JBoss app server. To use the console, run JBoss. Then access the console with either of these URLs depending on Jboss version.

Where is a good tutorial on writing my own JMX object that I could view thru the jmx-console?
