Need help understanding buildmagic

I downloaded and built JBoss 3.0.4 from tar. No problems and it runs fine. I'm trying to run this release in the Eclipse debugger and, therefore, and am trying to fully understand the JBoss build system. I'm stuck on buildmagic -- can't find any doc, and can't figure out what's going on here. For example, right at the beginning of the main build.xml file, there's a line:

&buildmagic;

What does that line do, and how do I get started understanding buildmagic?

if u look at the beginning of the build.xml, there will be an external entity called "buildmagic" described pointing to a another file which contains common ant targets.
