I'm having the exact same issues.
I'm running JBoss_3.0.6_Jetty on Solaris 9
My java version is 1.3.1_07-b02
JBoss just stops. The logs show a clean shutdown, but nobody stoped the app, it just decided that it was time to shutdown and did. -

4. Re: JBoss 3.0.6 stops intermittently!!! Urgent!!!
vinays Mar 31, 2003 4:18 PM (in response to vinays)Another fresh finding, though i am not sure if this is causing the issue:
We were running the jboss server as follows:
1. User logs into unix shell
2. invokes the run command as below
nohup run.sh -c jboss0 &
3. The server comes up and works fine.
4. When the user logs out of the shell, the server does a shutdown by itself.
So as of now, we have modified the run.sh... exec command as follows:
exec nohup "$JAVA" $JAVA_OPTS \
-classpath "$JBOSS_CLASSPATH" \
org.jboss.Main "$@" &
And, we run it as
run.sh -c jboss0
Here, we find that, the server stays alive even after the user exits the shell.
We are still not sure if this is the main issue, but will be doing some more monitoring.
