hitcher May 27, 2003 9:57 AM (in response to irfan_a)it works for me under windows xp with classes12_01.zip and jboss 3.2.1 and jboss 3.0.3. But I had to use "jdbc:oracle:oci8:@...." as connection-url instead of "jdbc:oracle:oci:@...."

marcalayon May 29, 2003 12:00 AM (in response to irfan_a)I struggled with this problem. It ended up being an ip address problem. Check the /etc/hosts file. Check the datasource file. Make sure that the ip addresses referenced for the database are correct.

8. Re: Jboss 3.0 connection problem to Oracle 8i
irfan_a May 30, 2003 12:15 PM (in response to irfan_a)I am not using Linux or Unix, so it can not be /etc/hosts file. My database is running on local machine so IP address can not be an issue

9. Re: Jboss 3.0 connection problem to Oracle 8i
jonlee May 31, 2003 10:15 AM (in response to irfan_a)If you are running Windows, you will still have a hosts file (or should do). It should at least define:
127.0.0.1 localhost
Your thin driver still requires a URL target for the JDBC URL, even if the DBMS is local:
e.g. jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1525:myDB
Show the contents of your oracle-service.xml so the folks can diagnose it. You can blank out the username and password to maintain your security. -

kar2000 Jul 17, 2003 6:58 AM (in response to irfan_a)Well, I have a doubt in this regard - is there any means of finding in the jboss 3.0.7 server side and not in the Oracle 8 database server side,
how many connections are there in the pool,
how many connections are in use and
how many connections are being returned at a given point of time?
