JBOSS runs on Solaris 8?

Sorry for boot guy question, but I work for a govt agency who pays a DoD developer big $$, and is being told by said developer that we cannot use JBOSS, as it is not supported by solaris/not supported on Solaris. Is this truth? Trying to save taxpayers big $$ by not buying the "logical" choice.

Clearly states jboss runs on 7.x and 8.x.

If it can run JDK 1.4.x or higher then it can run JBoss 3.2.x and higher - JBoss is a pure Java-based platform. Yes, we have clients who run it on Solaris platforms.

Actually JDK 1.3 is enough for JBoss 3.2.

JBoss 4.0 will require JDK 1.4.

I have a jboss-3.0.6 running on JDK 1.4.1 on Solaris 8, works very well...

The link - http://www.altoweb.com/products/xpi/specifications.html seems to be broken. I would like to know if jboss 3.2.3 can run on solaris 8 without any major issue.

Yes it does. Just make sure you have a fairly recent JDK (1.4+).
