Too many files open!!!???

Hi

I am running JBOSS4 with JDK1.4.2 and J2ee1.3 and I get the following error:

ERROR [Engine] StandardWrapperValve[default]: Servlet.service() for
servlet default threw exception
java.io.FileNotFoundException:
C:\jboss-4.0.0\server\default\deploy\management\web-console.war\images\spirale.gif (Too many open files)

The image file is in this directory.
This only happen after a certain time, if I restart JBOSS it is fine for a couple of hours then I get the same error again.

I am absolutely clueless, I figure that JBOSS must have some configuration to allow more files to be open??????!!!!!!!

Please can someone be of some assistance.

probably by now you have researched the web and would have got a soln to it, if not then read on:

What it probably means that you are crossing the maximum file descriptors limit set by the OS. If you increase the maximum size to something greater than what it is currently set, you might solve the problem

In Linux you can increase the limit by $ulimit -n, also refer this page:
