1. Re: How to find out the exact version of a jar file bundled
peterj Sep 26, 2006 10:58 AM (in response to jbchurn)The jar-versions.xml file in jboss_home (if you downloaded and unzipped the zip file, not sure if it is there if your used the installer) appears to list all of the jar files and provides and implVersion property that looks to be the actual version for the file. In 4.0.4GA, for Hibernate it states:
<jar name="hibernate3.jar" specVersion="4.0.4.GA" specVendor="JBoss (http://www.jboss.org/)" specTitle="JBoss" implVersion="3.2.0.cr2" implVendor="hibernate.org" implTitle="Hibernate3" implVendorID="http://www.jboss.org/" implURL="http://www.jboss.org/" sealed="false" md5Digest="b09b1d2e2aa731aef18af546e63dd646"/> -
2. Re: How to find out the exact version of a jar file bundled
jbchurn Sep 26, 2006 8:27 PM (in response to jbchurn)However, in jboss 4.0.3SP1, it gives this which does not tell the exact hibernate 3 version.
<jar name='hibernate3.jar' specVersion='4.0.3' specVendor='JBoss (http://www.jboss.org/)' specTitle='JBoss' implVersion='4.0.3SP1 (build: CVSTag=JBoss_4_0_3_SP1 date=200510241213)' implVendor='JBoss Inc.' implTitle='JBoss [Zion]' implVendorID='http://www.jboss.org/' implURL='http://www.jboss.org/' sealed='false' md5Digest='99d240a518004cf70d64e0a9484a169b' />
Between, if i were to replace the hibernate3.jar in jboss with a newer version, how can i be sure that other jar will be compatible with the hibernate3.jar that I put in manually?
Thank you. -
3. Re: How to find out the exact version of a jar file bundled
peterj Sep 27, 2006 10:47 AM (in response to jbchurn)Look at the manifest.mf file in the Hibernate jar file.

I doubt that would help; it seems that this file is generated from the MANIFEST data in the third-party files, which apparently is missing...
