ilya_shaikovsky Jul 12, 2007 11:32 AM (in response to daedlus)calling popup is just calling its JS api. So you need to perform your condition check before calling. Programmatically you may set some value for hidden inpuit and then check it on the client and call the JS

am using the rendered attribute<rich:modalPanel id="showProperties" minHeight="500" minWidth="800" height="600" width="800" style="top:230" zindex="2000" rendered="#{test.showModal}">
am rendering using the condtion in test bean.
if rendered="false" it doesnt display modal panel but the page shows IE error, but incase rendered="true" it works fine.
also doc gives very litttle info on how to programatically throw the modal window , any other reference link wud be helpful.

2) info is small because till latest releases this functuionality wasn't available.
