rich:tree really slow

I created a rich:tree with several hundred entries and found out that this component is SOOO slow with many entries:

Firefox 28sec
IE 38sec
Safari (Windows) 3(! three) sec

Is there a way to increase the speed of this component?

I forgot, This is the time it actually needs to display the tree on firefox, while reloading. I guess it takes some time to create the tree as javascript objects.

Hi,

If your no. of nodes are 500+ or huge then tree is not a good option.

There is no way out.
