1. Re: why my Jboss site easily dead?
peterj Jul 15, 2008 6:27 PM (in response to rosetulip)Hmm, I'm surprised that you are running out of permgen space just by running the portal (I assume that you downloaded the JBossAS + JBoss Portal bundle). But that can be easily remedied - go into the run.bat file and change this line:
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xms128m -Xmx512m
to
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xms128m -Xmx512m -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
By the way, which version of the JBossAS + Portal bundle did you download? And what version of JDK are you using? -
2. Re: why my Jboss site easily dead?
rosetulip Jul 15, 2008 6:33 PM (in response to rosetulip)I download jboss-portal-2.7.0.ALPHA1 (jboss-portal-2.7.0.ALPHA1-bundled.zip)
My JAVA_HOME is
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_04
Should I still need to change to
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xms128m -Xmx512m -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m ? -
3. Re: why my Jboss site easily dead?
peterj Jul 15, 2008 6:37 PM (in response to rosetulip)Yes, make that change.
Also, consider going back to JDK 1.5 - the JBossAS version you are running is not qualified to use 1.6. You will run into problems.
Finally, because you are a beginner (which you mentioned in your other post), you should not be using alpha software. I suggest you go back to JBoss Portal 2.6.5. Unless you like to find and fix problems in code you did not write. -

5. Re: why my Jboss site easily dead?
peterj Jul 15, 2008 6:42 PM (in response to rosetulip)Same location where you downloaded the bundle you currently have:
http://www.jboss.org/jbossportal/download/index.html
And there are links to this from the JBoss web site home page. -

rosetulip Jul 15, 2008 10:37 PM (in response to rosetulip)Do you mean this one"
JBoss Portal + JBoss AS 4.2.2 2.6.5.SP1 Production 2008-05-21 LGPL Notes"? -
