Hi @all,
does anyone have any information how the JBoss 4.2.2 compares to a single Tomcat 6.0 concerning resource consumption, such as memory-usage, cpu-usage, open files etc.
Simply comparing the features and everything else JBoss offers on top of Tomcat, I get the feeling, that it is really a lot more of resources, that a JBoss might need, but is it really that much?
How good are the possibilities to reduce to unnecessary features and services to reduce the JBoss to the minimum of what is really needed?
Thanks for any input
Thomas
You can remove unneeded services, see http://www.jboss.org/community/docs/DOC-10177
By the way, JBoss AS 5.0.0.GA comes with a new configuration, named 'web,' that is already slimmed down, and provides a servlet container and JPA support.
