Using database with a web service

Good day,

I want to write a web application using servlets and I need to have access to a database for storing server's data (like information on users etc...).

Where can I find a description of how can I start and use a database in the JBoss application server ? How can I access it through my web application service and how do I configure it ?

I think you have to start with Datasource configuration.
