    RichFaces Subscription?

    vray

      Hi guys,

I am new to RichFaces and ajax4jsf, so I had a few clarifications regarding these issues, any help will be appreciated.

      1. Since Jboss has overtaken RichFaces, we no longer have to pay for a subscription to RichFaces?
      2. ajax4jsf will continue to remain free?

I ask these questions because I have currently be reassigned to work on an application which has RichFaces tags and the owner wants to no longer use themas he has to pay a yearly subscription for it. So, if RichFaces becomes free, then we no longer have that problem of migrating.

          1) Rich Faces is fully open source and free.
          2) Ajax4jsf and Rich Faces will be merged from 3.1.0 GA release that will be presented soon. Nothing should be changed on your pages and seettings. Just - update libraries.

Thanks a lot for the response!
So, basically, once the 3.1 release is out, I would only need to update the libraries but the tags, etc would remain the same and it would be free? Thats awesome.

One more thing, a calender tag will be available with the RichFaces 3.1 release, is that true? So, this means we can use <rich:calendar> and so on to implement our own calender inside the jsf page right?
