authetication at registering in cluster

is there any possibility to control, authenticate members joining to a group?

i saw something in the jgroups documentation about encryption but if i understood right it's about encrypting the communication and not about authentication of the members of a group.

is there any alternative solution to make sure only defined members can take part of the multicast communication?
