Synchronous replication with tx

Basic question:

When using synchronous replication in a transactional context, the docs say that replication occurs *at* commit time.

I'm assuming this means it actually occurs just *before* the transaction commits so the transaction can be rolled back if replication fails.

Is this correct?

Correct. We hook into the 2PC, and if our PREPARE phase fails, the *entire* TX will roll back

Does JBossCache offer a fully fledged XAResource? Or is it just hooking in via the Synchronization interface?
