simpleTogglePanel: Remain open and not shut. *HELP*

I have a simpleTogglePanel above my DataTable. The panel is set to be closed for default. There will be an 'Edit' button in my DataTable and when I clicked it, the panel will open up. When I clicked the second time, the panel will remain open also.

May I know how can I code this ?

use opened attribute binded to some bean property. change it on action execution.

Is it a good practice for just a simple open and close togglepanel to go BackEnd control everytime? Is there anyway else to solve it?

Igor at the time it was created open JS API for this component wasn't in our plans.

After 3.1.0 releases all the components will be reviewed to specify all the functions that can be needed for the developers. After we'll describe it in our guides.

At present only components from 3.0.2 and higher releases has JS API described.
