Is JBoss Cache the correct answer?

Hello!
We have a requirement wherin our application server(not necessarily JBoss AS) will host/store some POJOs (not from a DB) which have to be accessed by a number of client machines.

In this scenario is it advisable to go for JBoss cache??
If so, kindly guide me with references to implement it. (The references I've gone through are either for JBoss AS or completely stand alone cache implementations.)
