Setting active tab after redirect using switchtype=page

I figured out my previous problem with trying to a redirect using javascript on a tab select. The answer is this way does not work and you need to use the page navigation rules.

So now when I do a redirect through the rules specified in my page flow the tab selected does not display as the active page although the contents is correct.

How do I make sure the selected tab becomes the active one after the redirect?

There must be a way to set the active tab. The redirect causes the tab panel to be rendered since it is part of the facelets template so even though the page content is correct the active tab is wrong.
