1. Re: Columnized selectOneMenu (a la suggestionBox)
ilya_shaikovsky Sep 7, 2007 5:14 AM (in response to igx89)We've already have an RFC to implement public JS API to make you able to work with appear/disappear your suggestion popup. So you'll be able to use is like selectOne. What else you need from suggestion to use it as you need?

igx89 Sep 7, 2007 9:32 AM (in response to igx89)Good to hear. Basically I just want a selectOneMenu with a drop-down list whose items I can colorize and columnize (each item having multiple columns of data populated from different fields in a bean).

igx89 Sep 7, 2007 10:12 AM (in response to igx89)I can't find any <rich:popupList>? I even downloaded the PDF documentation from the 3.1.0 RC5 release and found nothing.

6. Re: Columnized selectOneMenu (a la suggestionBox)
ilya_shaikovsky Sep 10, 2007 5:36 AM (in response to igx89)I mean suggestion popup. It could be used as a table. It should accept any h:columns inside. And these columns could be styled and populated as for dataTable.

igx89 Sep 10, 2007 9:42 AM (in response to igx89)Yeah, that's what I like about it and would like to use in a selectOneMenu situation (where the user can't manually edit the input themselves, and is shown their choices by clicking a drop-down arrow)...

It would be better if the selected item values can be populated into the backing bean automatically. Right now only the suggestion field gets set. -

About suggestion:
The main feature is to populate values from the bean on input but not the submit the value seleted. For this purpose - you can use a4j:support inside.
Future components with functionality you need - wil be a solution.
