Datasource in the web

I have a servlet which will invoke a simple java class which is also present in the web applications.
This simple class looks up for the Data souce from theb but i am not able to look up and exception is NullPointerException and Datasource no bound.
so how to look up the data souce ?
The Look up works for the EJB's but when we look up from the web its not possible.
pl let me knoe how look up for the Data source.

DataSources are available only in the vm they are deployed on. Either you are running the servlet container in a different vm than jboss or you are using jndi lookup properties that make jboss think you are.

I am using the same JVM, and the Servlet is also in the same JVM.
