problem with oracle/jboss

I am currently using JBoss2.4.6 and Tomcat 4.0 - oracle 8i database.

I am able to connect to the database and return data from the database to the jsp. However, each time I attempt to update/add a record in the database JBoss does not throw any exception or error but the database is not being updated.

I am using the oracle thin driver currently. However, each time I attempt to use the oracle oci8 driver I get the following error:

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-06401: NETCMN: invalid driver designator

Has anyone experienced this type of behavior?

Kindly use the thin driver and also check the connection url for the database.
