    Oracle OCI on Linux

    gchianes

We are tring to get JBoss to connect to Oracle 8i client software with the OCI driver. Is anyone using OCI on Linux? If so, I have some questions:

What version of Oracle are you using?

How did you format the ConnectionURL in oracle-service.xml?

Maybe I should be asking: Are you using oracle-service.xml or oracle-xa-service.xml?

Does the 'oci8' driver look for a libary libocijdbc8.so?

      Thanks in advance.

It still is not working, but I'm getting closer. I had only installed the OCI drivers, not the JDBC options. Now I'm getting ORA-12154 or ORA-12705, depending on how I set the ORACLE URL.

I could still use an example of of the URL connecting with the Oracle OCI driver.

          Thanks again,
