rich:calendar: locale and timeZone attributes

Hi,
I used those 2 attributes with an inputText and a converter:

locale="Locale.ITALY" timeZone="Europe/Rome"

I deleted both and putter a rich:calendar but those attribute give me an error (cannon convert string to Locale/TimeZone)...

why? do I wrong something?

it doesn't work also if I put "it_IT" as locale...

In the demo, the value for locale uses slash. May be you need it/IT . Try it.

I also tried using it but it's the same...in the demo btw it is used this code in the bean to instanciate a Locale class:

public void selectLocale(ValueChangeEvent event) {

 String tLocale = (String) event.getNewValue();
 if (tLocale != null) {
 String lang = tLocale.substring(0, 2);
 String country = tLocale.substring(3);
 locale = new Locale(lang, country, "");
 }
 }

and then the Locale property is connected to rich:calendar...

In my code in fact there is a casting (from string to Locale) exception...but in converter it works...
